What factors contribute to the onset of IBS?
Answered By Ilene Trevore, Editor
The onset of IBS in a person's life can be due to some stressful incidents that affect emotional aspect like divorce or death of a loved one. Likewise, a number of patients complain that IBS appears after they are found to suffer from gastrointestinal infection or surgical operations in their abdomen. Another triggering factor to its onset is the ingestion of certain food to which a person's abdomen is sensitive.
