What is the role of fiber therapy in IBS?
Answered By Ilene Trevore, Editor
Fiber is a non-digested part of plant food. The two types are soluble and insoluble. Each of the types play an important role in the therapy for curing IBS patients. Its primary function is to increase the transit time of the colon and decrease pressure within the colon. A patient derives much benefit to ease the constipation symptom of the syndrome.
